  • Just got my engine running, and all I can say is I never had a engine run so smooth while being so rich. I ran 4 tanks threw it now and the hottest it has went is 213 with more power then you know what to do with. The throttle response is unbelievable.  I opened the engine up and the craftsmanship is superb. I will being doing business in the future for sure.

  • I have both the Jammin JPX-21 Plus and Werks B5 from Neal and they are both the craziest motors I've ever seen. The JPX is more aggressive and alot louder sounding then the B5. I always think my B5 is easier to tune then my JPX but I don't really know for sure because I cracked my HSN. The B5 has incredible power but its not aggressive like the JPX. Its very quiet sounding. My B5 can wheelie if I punch the throttle as soon as I land from a jump and will wheelie untill I bring it down. The tires ballon to hell. Saying all this about the B5 its not that the engine has to do this its that it can. I drive 1/4 throttle most of the time and the motor is very very smooth and even then I hammer it down the straight its smooth. My B5 is actually only on its 7th tank as of right now. I don't know how run time is going to be with this motor I have not timed it yet but will do at tomorrow's race. I was getting 10mins with my JPX / JP-4 so the B5 should get 12 or more. You will NOT regret buying any motor off Neal hes a great guy to deal with. His priced are awsome. He doesn't mind talking with you over the phone with any questions you have. He even checked up with me afew times to see how my engines were coming along! When your looking for your new motor give Neal a call and he will get you set up!

  • Two years ago I got in touch with Neal for some engines, I ended up with a .21 and .28 Mr Ninja for my buggy and truggy. Both gave me a trouble free break in and massive power. The .28 was almost too much power for my truggy. The .21 has given me two years of racing with very few issues, most were due to my inexperience in tuning high quality Italian engines. The .21 has since been sold, and the .28 is awaiting a new rod.

Last year I got yet another engine from Neal, this time a modded jpx.21. This is the best engine I have yet to try. It has so much power it's ridiculous, and still it's manageable even in my buggy. I can clear jumps only the electric guys can clear. It will idle all day if I let it, and has a screaming top-end with the recommended 086 pipe. It has now just passed the two gallon mark, and still has a little pinch left. Bearings feel like they did when I first got it, and there is zero rod play.

On top of a great engine you get customer service par excellence.

  • Dude, These things are completely INSANE!!! Got them out, washed the oil out, resealed the backplate and carb, and hit the track on Friday. Couple of tanks nice and slow and then let them rip. They ran awesome!! Have not even started tuning them yet, and not sure I ever will. Will need to work on the clutch setup though. Seems to rev to high before the clutch engages. Will change out to weaker springs and retry next Friday. Thanks a million, these things are great. , 2 Clocked Picco 28 FTT

  • I need more fuel through it though, and need to try different stuff... But I pretty much threw everything at it so far... even stuff that was not really recommended by Tib, yet I'm still very impressed...
So far..this engine has been the first .21 that has held up to the Speed... It's safe to say that it kills the Speed in both "low-stalled" TQ and rips it's arse on top end....

It's a curly one shy of being as smooth as the Speed... but I'm using a 8.5 insert... which matches the carb for the most part.... Tib and other's are using 7mm inserts I believe... which should tame it down and make it as smooth as the Speed if not better...

damn impressed this far.... =D>  Clocked JL 21

  • I had a chance to get some really good run time on Neal's Clocked JL last night. Put about a half gallon through it. ( Byrons Pro 2 30% with 9% oil) Running a Mugen P5 plug, JP2 Pipe..head shims at .5. 7MM venturi

I never actually timed the engine but I was coming in after 6 minute quali's with slightly more than 1/3 tank left. I would easily say 9 minutes or more, and the track was blown out..super loomy, good 2-3 inches of loose topsoil, and 12-20 baskeball size ruts/craters on the track. ( it was the last night before rebuild)

I kept the tune slightly rich to keep tire spin to a minimum and it still was pulling Nova's and Ninja's with no problems. My temps ranged from 195 at start of races to 225 at completion, so you can see I had a good 2-4 hours of more power if I needed it, but with this engine I didnt.  This Mill is the Bomb...for what you get from Clockwork for the price it cannot be beat..Hand lapped piston so you dont have to break it in..Milled out carb so it takes Nova based inserts and an engine that will not only compete with but is more than likely more powerful than $300-$500 engines! This is my new engine of choice, and I think the TT store may even stock a couple of Neals babies so we can ship them out quickly!!

Thanks Neal, and thanks Force, and thanks Jack Lin..this little mill is insane!!!!

  • Like doesn't truly describe how I feel. I LOVE this motor. It runs like it stole something, it holds a tune, it starts right up. Everything about it has been great so far.

When I first able to give it a full throttle stomping I was actually a little startled by how fast it was. I told myself "you've got to be kidding". I am not a motor expert by any means, and I can't give you a great deal of comparison, but if there is a better performing motor out there than this JL, I would be surprised. Like I said I am so impressed I am ordering a second one for my truggy.

Also, we have to look beyond just the performance of the engine as well. We have to look at Neal. Neal goes above and beyond to help out. He answers all of my calls, puts up with my incesent questions, and has never refused to help. He's a top notch guy that puts an already great engine over the top.

Full Disclosure: I am not a paid sponsor from Neal. I do not receive any compensation from him either in pay or products. I pay full price just like everyone else so what I have said comes from the heart not the podium. , Clocked JL 21

  • The clockworks modified version of this motor is insane people at the track were amazed at its exhaust note and power band. A gentleman and his son where out practicing today and saw me struggling with the tune. He made 3 quick adjustments and it completely transformed the way this engine performed. This thing was pulling 4-5 car lengths on everything on the back straight. __________________, 2 Clocked JL 21

  • After doing quite a bit of research on engine modifiers, I decided to try Clockwork Racing Engines.  I did this because I read many posts from Neal, and he really impressed me with his vast knowledge of nitro engines.I sent him an email and he responded back within an hour, saying he'd like to talk via phone about what exactly I was looking for.Neal promptly called me and I explained to him I was looking for something really fast for my DM-1 without breaking the bank.  We talked for a while about my options and he explained in detail what he could do to the engine.  I chose the Picco .28 FTT.I told him to make it as fast as possible on the topend and don't worry about fuel economy.  The engine arrived ,to my amazement, about a week later.Break in was no problem and WOW was this thing fast.  Neal even stayed in contact with me throughout ,making sure everything was O.k..  I have to say Neal is a rare find and a pleasure to do business with from start to finish, he really goes the extra mile.  I'll be back soon for a Clockworked Picco P9R.       Clocked Picco 28 FTT

  • Hi Neal and John, well the AKA trophy event is finished all done and dusted! I got off work friday morning drove the 11 hours home prepped the car then raced the weekend now i get to get back in the car at 4am tomorrow to go to another job! Yippy!! Winking smile
Well as i say the racing is all over and the B5 ran like a champ all weekend great power great run times no flame outs and would idle all day, i still cannot fault it!!!
I came into the main in position 5 so not a bad start, and by 5min in i was up to second and holding it down easy, at about 12 mins i got caught up in traffic and first position got a lap and a half up but i got a clean track from there and settled in to catch back up i was getting close then with 1.30 min to go my rear wheel fell off and that was me out, but still ended up 3rd so not a bad result all in all.
The bloke who won is actually the importer of AKA (so one of my sponsors) he blew his engine up on the first day so i gave him the clocked ninja to run! He said and i quote 'this is the best f#@$ing engine i have ever run! so big props there he is super fussy! Should get a few orders from that alone! Open-mouth smile
Anyways I had best go and get ready to go in the morning so i will drop u a line when i get home again.
    Cheers,

  • I finally ran my SC8 at the track. And even with the 10+ lbs. of that car, Neal's JPX .21 pushes hard. I was able to clear the tripple and the double table top at the suprise of many

A lot of buggy and truggy peoples were surprised to see how well that baby was going. Mainly after few of them lifted up  the car and said "Ho..Sh.. this is heavy" All of them asked about the mill.
If you want something smooth, powerful, that doesn't suck gas crazy and tunes like a charm, this is the place.
I'm not going to shop around for my next mill. Neal's mods are beautiful.

And don’t forget about the man. He is as good, if not better than his engines. If you’re not happy he isn’t happy either. He will support and help you anytime, Send him video of your tuning and he will tell you what to adjust. CRE ROCKSsss…

  •

    Hey Neal,
We just ran a 4-man, 4 hour endurance race at Hardcore to mark the end of the season. We decided to use my Clockwork fuel for the race. We had a really rough start, the engine did not want to start(tight engine, 6º outside). We lost several laps right off the start, we were in second last for quite a while. Flameouts left and right for the other teams helped us get up to 4th. When the 3rd place team blew an engine, we took over 3rd place with less than an hour remaining. I was at the controls for the final 30 minutes, 3rd place, 9 laps down from the leader. I drove consistent, clean laps for 30 minutes, managed to catch 2nd place while they were in the pits repairing their car. Despite chewing into the 1st place team's lead for the entire 30 minutes I had the controls, I couldn't catch up. I did manage to lap them three times, but still finished 6 spots off of the lead lap. It was an absolute blast. The fuel was excellent. We had not one flame out, not one glowplug issue. It was smooth sailing for almost the entire race.

Thank you for an amazing product!

  • just like to add a report regards Neal !!!!!.
I have one of the clocked b5 2057 long pipe
mbx6t 3 shoe clutch and 1.1 springs. We are currently
    having are state title event.
I currently have a timed fuel run 15.55min till i stoped it
yes im a tad heavy on the finger and the track was very reasonable grip
now with this it makes the 10 min qualifiers with ease hope this helps. Im happy to write this and have had many flawless runs with the motor more then enough power so THANK YOU NEAL 1 HAPPY COSTOMER oh the motors 10 tanks old. And i use the engine heater for every start so it still has pinch and yes it was hand lapped

P.S this guys motors are no joke !!! buy and be impressed and run with a smile on ya

  • The JL is very quick, like a sling shot and just revs. .  . . . . forever . . . Not as expolsive as the B6 but I think quicker. I know because my friend qualified in C final and my servo broke while warming up for B final so I used my friend's car. wow so quick but not as nice at the bottom. The B6 seems to make more power everywhere, more power underneath the graph. The B6 is so smooth and makes power everywhere . . Love it. I will need more time with the engine and car.

Tell Neal is named Neal The Great !!!

  • I asked the same question last summer when wanting to upgrade from my savages K5.9... went with the recommended .28 picco, and even though ive not used in much since due to the winter, its an amazing thing... i went with the 4 shoe clutch as well, and the recommended pipe... and after following the running in instructions provided, ive been doing a gentle break in runs... and its fast and powerful.

Its completely in a whole different league to the 5.9 i had... with this engine, even though im running a IRC 6mm TVP chassis, Baja Shocks, 250cc Midtank and 40 series wheels,it still wheelies on the throttle anywhere at any time... and im not finished tuning it in yet...

    Highly recommended by me!!!

  • Hi Neal and John

This is my little report from the first race this year which you can also like to publish onthe homepage. I am so endlessly happy to take CRE engines...

    Hi all

Last weekend I had to know and understand the first race this year and to be better looking that this is only my third race ever.
I am drivIng the SRC-6 Mugen MBX Truggy and the CRE OS MAX25XZ which had only about 3 liters Byrons Fuel and was therefore still set to the "rich side". Actually I had registered for the amateur class, but was placed in the Race classSince I only own Truggy about a year go I had no chance to just ride on top. I qualified directly for the 1/4 final and could even win this. Then I thought that in the 1 / 2 Final had no chance and thanks to the best engines in the whole field, I qualify 4th for the final. With great joy I was still in the final on the 8th Final table.  All the hours of the life of the engine I never once had an interruption or problem.  On the line I was much faster than any other driverIn the lower speed range of the CRE-engine, it was clearly superior. I own all my vehicles exclusively CRE engines and am very excited to run with such perfection engines. I am sure that there currently is not anything better than these engines. We live in Switzerland and it can happen that we bought in Hong Kong and an engine that was sent to Switzerland, but he always goes directly to Canada then to Neal and John for processing and then returned to Switzerland. Most engines of course, but we now buy directly in Canada at CRE with already finished. It is worth every dollar for this CRE processing. I thank Neal and John for the perfect service and fast processing of the engines. I'm sure that will be raced in the Swiss Championship this year, the first sites with CRE engines and I will let you know again how we do. Excuse my bad English.

    Thanks and best regards,

I JUST RAN MY CRE B5 FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY. OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG. I COULD NOT EXPLAIN THE ABSOLUTELY INSANE RPM ON THIS THING. OMG OMG. IVE TESTED AND RAN EVERY ENGINE OUT THERE AND I'VE NOW INDUCTED EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM INTO THE HALL OF SHAME, INCLUDING SOME MODDERS..LOL. OMG, I LOVE MY CRE B5. I HAVE 3 STOCK B5'S AND NONE PERFORM LIKE THIS OMG YO, CRAZY. IM MOST IMPRESSED WITH IT'S POWER DELIVERY; SILKY SMOOTH. THE SUPPORT IS ALSO RIGHT ON PAR WITH THE ENGINE. • Dear clockwork team,

This was my first time racing a truggy, I started out with a d8t
and coupled it with your clocked b6. I got used to the way truggys handled
the first qualifier everything was good but I had room for improvement, in
the second qualifier I broke a rear hub and the third I flamed out. The day
wasn't starting good and I made the a main starting in 9th. after some
adjustment to the low speed needle I started the main quickly overtaking the
field and halfway threw the race I was in a battle for first with a mbx6t
with the new os speed motor. It turned into a fuel war and the os motor
lost. In the last 5 minutes he came in the pits and flamed out and I pitted
for a splash and ended up a half a lap in front which I never gave up! I
wasn't sure on the fuel times of the b6 going into this race but after I
know now it gets 11 minutes in my truggy and driving style. This motor has
been the easiest to break in and tune and I had peaple with new motors such
as the novas reedys and os wanting this one. Good job guys and thanks for
giving me my first win in truggy class. Check out the pictures and race info
at xrcraceway.com oh and I also TQ'ed all 3 heats and won the main by 2 laps
in my buggy using a radical 621t. Sorry guys I would like to run your b6 in
my buggy but I don't have another 350 to drop on a new motor. Great job and
    keep up the good work

  • Hi All,

Firstly I would just like to say that my son and I are completely stoked with our Clocked engine. So much in fact we have ordered 2 more but that is not what I want to really comment on because there appears to be a lot of happy Clocked owners.

What I want to do is congratulate Neal and John on SERVICE. They do what they say they will do, they have done it on time or before, the engines do what they say they will, they always return the queries in a prompt manner which seems as though they don’t sleep and they are always accessible. Ask Neal, on more than one occasion I have got him out of bed because I have miscalculated the time difference and not a growl.

Fantastic job guys and you deserve every success. You have set a benchmark that I should measure my business on.

    There is an old saying…

“ THE PRICE WILL LONG BE FORGOTTEN BUT EXCELLENT SERVICE WILL NOT AND BUSINESS STAYS WHERE IT IS WELL TREATED.

    Race Report (7/11/11)

My first practice run at LCRC was first thing in the morning.  The track was still a little bit wet and as I progressed through the run the track dusted off and became quite loose.  This was something that everyone had to fight throughout the day.  The track crew did sweep and water between rounds which did provide slightly more traction but the track was still loose throughout the entire day.  The track did eventually become fairly high bite by the time that the mains came around.

The first round of qualifying went extremely well.  After my first round in Truggy I was comfortably seeded in second place only one second behind TLR's Anthony Mazzara.  This is how we would end up starting the main with Serpent team driver Jason Schreffler starting in the third spot.

The Truggy main got off to a fast a clean start.  Mazzara had about a two second lead after the first couple of laps and then rolled his car putting me back on to his rear bumper.  This time I was not going to let him get away.  I kept the pressure on and Mazzara and he eventually wrecked again and gave me the lead which I never relinquished.  The margin of victory at the end of the thirty minutes was right around 3/4 of a lap.

The Clocked B5 ran like a top all day long!  The power was unbelievable and consistent throughout the entire main.  Fuel mileage was also a big advantage for me as well, Mazzara had to make one more pit stop than I had to which helped to seal the deal.  Thanks to Neal for the amazing work and craftsmanship that goes into these motors!

I found these guy's while surfing the net one night and am I glad I did!!!!!

I bought a Novarossi 28-7RT plus from them after speaking with Neal and all I can say is WOW, it idles all day long and has so much power it's hard to beleive it's only a .28, I put it in my carbon fiber savage and it's an absolute missle hold's a tune great and hasn't ran over 275 no matter how hot it is out. Neal is the man and I recomend his work to any one.

I got into truggies and have a B5 pro with a 2013 and a m2c 4 shoe clutch, it has about 3/4 of a gallon through it and it's crazy already, I just wish I had the skills on the radio to really make it shine but I am comming along slowly. It get's better and better every time out and when fully broke in will be an absolute powerhouse. It is a very different power, it is very controlable when needed and when you need to clear the triple it has more than enough, down the front straight it is a rocket, love this engine and glad I decided to get into truggies.

John and Neal are two of the nicest easiest guy's to talk to and work with and consider them freinds now, THANX for all your help guy's muchly apreciated!!!!!!!

  • I got a chance to fire up my CRE Werks B6...and all I have to say is, I heart Clockwork Race Engines.  I heated my engine per their guidelines and put in my glow ignitor and it fired right up on my D8.  It is the easiest engine to start that I have ever had.  It maintained a consistent idle right off the bat and did not bog down once.  I love this engine so far...nuff' said. And on a side note DHL ships ridiculously fast to Houston, TX. from Canada ^.^...I am a extremely happy customer.                           Thomas K. from Houston, TX!
  • Hey Guys, I just wanted to report on my first experience with Neal's Bonito.

Last week I headed down to Florida to do a little practice at Lake Park before the JC clash, I was running my buggy most of the time and decided run my truggy to finish the break in process before the race. There were some jumps that I really had to get into the throttle to clear with my buggy so I figured with the truggy I would not be doing them. That's how it normally works anyway but that was before I had Neal's Bonito. My first lap out of the pits was right into the sweeper to a section of jumps and of course thinking I would have a hard time clearing them I punched it and over jumped everything on the track!! Then I hit the straightaway and it had a nice smooth but powerful acceleration but by about midway the engine exploded into something I have never experienced with any off road engine. The sound and pull this thing had was crazy!! I had a huge smile on my face and told my buddy this thing was serious!

So when I got the the Clash I ran my buggy a bit and was having trouble clearing the quad in the middle of the track, I told my buddy, wait until I break out my truggy, I'll clear that by a mile!! He laughed and told me I was crazy and bet me lunch I wouldn't be able to do it. At the time the track was high bite btw. Then I got my truggy out all excited to get a free lunch, so the first lap I just tripled it and the next lap flat landed the quad over jumping it by a foot or so. Everyone was going nuts. There were only about 10 buggies doing the jump and no truggies except for me.

I didnt have the best of time in qualifying with the changing track conditions, mainly do to lack of experience in that type of condition but in the end I was able to place 4th in the Amain. I lost my advantage for the main and qualifying so I could not quad the jump, lots of rain made the track slower by about 2 seconds and the run before the quad was slick. I was still able to do 10 minute stops with the high speed needle pretty far out. I can't wain until it breaks in!

In short WOW I was impressed! I can't wait to try something in my buggy that Neal does this spring (Novarossi of course)                                                      Paul C. - OH, USA

  • Neal just to give you some feedback on the motor. It ran absolutlely phenominal all day long!!!! This thing is still loosening up though. After each heat I would have to keep leaning it out as it kept loosning up! Out of about 30 buggies today, me and one other guy were able to pit at 10+ and he was a pro! OUt of 30 sportsman buggies I was the only one able to run 10+, I was about 10:30 just to let you know and sure I might get some more!!!! We actually ran a 45 min. main today and 12 of us in it. Everybody else pits at about 7 - 8 minutes. I pitted every 10 minutes so I pitted at least 1 less and 2 less than everybody else. I only pitted 4 times and the last time I pitted was just a real quick splash just to cover me at the end at the 40 minute mark. I absolutely pull every single car there in the straight not even close. This thing is an absolute rocket and hooks up in the Mugen 6r!!! I took the win in the Sportsman Amain and 1/8 E-buggy with the Mugen's. Our area is loaded and have some really fast guys and a lot of pros and have never even came close to winning the amain and the motor had a lot to do with the success. The crazy thing is it was absolutely screaming and at the end of 45 minutes and swear on my RC cars the thing only temped at 208!!!!! The motor was dialed all day long!!!! Just had to keep leaning it out a little before each heat as it somewhat started to loosen up. 2.5 - 3 gallons I believe and I have to admit I can barely turn it over by hand, the pich is still pretty tight on it!!!!

I think there are some videos that were taken of the main and I might be able to get a video of me running with the P5 and just out pulling everybody on the straight from up in the drivers stand! I will ask around tomorrow and see what I can come up with.                                             Mike E.  TN, USA

Re: Testimonials

I got a chance to fire up my CRE Werks B6...and all I have to say is, I heart Clockwork Race Engines.
