Not usually..most times it improves engine life..... with the mod engines they make substantially more power then the stock counterparts, which usually results in people not having to run the engine agressively lean to make power...so in their lifespans the mod engines tend to run cooler and not be pushed as hard...... tho if you abuse them, you can hurt a mod engine as they do rev higher.......We have a Bonito we ran all season and it is still lik new inside...still has pinch in the sleeve and runs like a top........So from what we are seeing is the mod engines last as long or longer.

I was shocked to see the Bonito still have pinch left when we pulled it apart the other night.   That puppy is definately going back in my Serpent Truggy!   Well, it might see a little Roma too maybedevil

Do you always preheat your engines? I usually only do it in the fall and winter months.

Yes, this helps with tunning and rod life in my experience.

really depends on the engine....as well as the setup of the machine...ie. fuel, glowplug etc.....

For pre-heating the heating, bring it up to approx. 220F.  With a Competition Heat Engine Warmer, that will take approx. 20mins using the 110v version.
